Welcome!

Welcome to the Zelle Hofmann Employment Law Navigator Blog! We hope to see you here often.  We will post twice a week, or more often if there’s big news to report.  Midweek, we’ll post an article about something important to today’s employers.  It might be about a significant court decision or new law, or it might be a checklist of policy changes to consider. We’ll frequently write about trends we see developing.  We will be paying particularly close attention to the way that information – how we get it, how we manage it, what we do with it, and how we pass it on – impacts the relationship between employer and employee. This is the age of social media, big data, data analytics, e-discovery, and cyber security.  Lawyers, managers, and HR professionals responsible for employer-employee relationships need to keep an eye on all those things, and we’re here to help.

At the beginning of each workweek, we’ll post a summary of the previous week’s developments, with links to articles and blogs you might find useful.  Watch for That Is So Last Week every Monday.

Every so often, you’ll see a feature called Translegislation, which provides brief, user-friendly explanations of how new laws and regulations will affect employers.  And from time to time, we’ll have guest bloggers, who live in the real world, comment on what they think is important.
